watched some cs2 pro matches recently and the overwhelming majority of pros are white; there are no blacks or hispanics, and just a few asians; ties neatly into your article

Sure, but aren't a majority of starcraft players asian?

For any one specific videogame, it seems that there are large regional/cultural popularity effects. If you want to understand the relationship between race and videogame performance, you are going to want to average over many different games

true, but imo starcrafts focuses on average less on reaction time and more on systematizing and strategic thinking where the slightly higher east asian iq may come into play which is why you see their dominance on the far right tail of starcraft performance. would be a cool study nevertheless; "race differences in video game performance"

It's been done by Emil. Here's the link: https://www.researchgate.net/publication/331859319_Is_National_Mental_Sport_Ability_a_Sign_of_Intelligence_An_Analysis_of_the_Top_Players_of_12_Mental_Sports

Been a while since I've read the corresponding blog-post-summary, but it finds about what you would expect: low performance in African countries, higher performance in European and East Asian countries.

I remember being a bit skeptical about the methodology, but I can't remember what precisely gave me pause. I'm also a bit more statistically saavy than I was a couple years ago, so I might not even have the same objections if I look over it again.

fighting games requiere more reaction time compare to shooters and black , hispanics are overepresented there same for asians, only in super smash bros whites can win but the evo events are dominated by japanese and blacks

i would say in terms of reaction time requirements they are roughly on the same level; otherwise i do not know enough about fighting games to say anything susbtantial

This explains why Blacks do not do as well on video games. A lot of video game rely on reaction time, especially the shooting games. Look at all the video game competitions. Only White and Asian men participate.

Women's reaction times are also slower than men. This is actually well researched and documented.

Interesting timing in that I was thinking of conducting such a study, In my own amateurish way ofcourse.

I just bought components to build a Jensen box and wanted to test it on people in my city, Vancouver, British Columbia. So it has a nice diversity of people. Not sure how representative it would be since most are recent immigrants. Your suggested online approach is much more economical though.

Emil, thanks for the analysis.

Reaction time as a proxy for a more standard IQ test always seemed too simplistic (narrow) to me. Intelligence involves more complex mental acuity than is required for reaction time.
