I do wish the implicit bias association test actually worked, because it would be great to have data on what these respondents ACTUALLY believe vs. what they know the "correct" answer is.

There is no way, especially on the Asian and Hispanic respondents, that they have warmer feelings towards blacks vs. whites. No way.

Implicit association test probably does measure that, but it also measures knowledge of accurate stereotypes. As far as I know, no one has shown the latter to be true.

Another possible method is list experiments. https://academic.oup.com/poq/article/77/S1/159/1878470

The ingroup preference that dare not speak its name. I recall a vast majority of white right wingers laughably claiming in a survey that they wouldn’t at all mind a next door neighbour of another race which, if true, would render the suburbs an accidental creation and white flight a wild conspiracy theory

Why do you say there is not way? I doubt Hispanics care too much about the correct respose and the rise in disliking whites from both Asians and Hispanics is consistent with the elite discourse over the last 10 years of woke beliefs.

I spent the first half of my life exposed to more Hispanic and Asian people than white. My opinion doesn't come from a college class on the subject.

The graph shows black higher than white until relatively recently though in the last decade so things change fast with popular trends.

There is a large difference between one’s ideological opinion of other races and one’s lived experience. My upper east side aunt has massive TDS and is extremely anti-racist, but if a single black homeless person gets near her on the street she will talk like she’s a member of the KkK.

Revealed preferences are a thing and being more straightforward and truthful wouldn’t be a bad thing. The alternative is to maintain open borders out of awkward politeness

I think you will get something different if you tried Israel instead. American left is interested in Jews as in Holocaust victims, but not Jews as in middle eastern realpolitik players. The American far right is mostly conservative Christians who like Jews.

Jews are very intellectual and ideological. It would make sense that people who share those traits would identify with them.

Also, given how influential Jews are anyone wanting to influence politics or culture would want them on their side.

Thanks for the information on ethnocentrism over time.

"Around 2014, the races reached approximate parity, and since then, the White left has rated their own group lower than the other races."

This shall be known as the age of idiocy.

"Looks like we need to talk more about the anti-Semitism of the moderates."

The Zionists have done an excellent job of invigorating anti-semitism.

Hi Emil, I'm cautiously doubtful of this data.

Looking at some research using okcupid data, it would appear that the reverse is the case and everyone prefers white people

https://www.yutaaoki.com/blog/dating-your-race-counts-from-okcupid

Of course, it's dating data which limits the input to people of a certain SES (socioeconomic status) and dating age. But it's likely to reflect how people feel quite well.

Do we know how the data in your research was obtained? I'm guessing that few people would confess their biases in most public polling, and black people, well the zeitgeist seems to encourage them to be angry at and hate others.

Yes, dating data shows women prefer White men, and men prefer Asian women. This doesn't necessarily imply the same preferences overall for races though.

Aha!

So we're talking about how we would form legislation, not what we want our kids to be. Interesting. I wonder how this would affect the neighborhood we would like to live in....

There has to be a gender difference in the sentiments of the different races towards each other. It would be interesting to know whether it's significant or not.
