In the past south koreans regarded dogs as guard animals or food not pets. After 2000 the popularity of pet small dogs exploded, raising dogs for food was banned and TFR crashed. The trends of more dogs and fewer children went hand in hand. It's obvious that the correlation exists because the pampered pet dogs are eating the babies.
I remember American protesters trying to stop Koreans from eating our beloved best friends. The Bravo British housewife was very vocal. Mostly liberals no doubt who are fine to spread their colonial beliefs about the sanctity of dogs.
I don’t like dogs or pets generally. Animals aren’t meant to be inside a house and gag when people sleep with their pets or when they let their dogs lick their face or lips.
One thing that surprised me when I was in Seoul a couple of years ago was that most prams I saw contained a dog, not a human baby. 2027 is when the dog-meat ban comes into effect, so anyone who wants to have a try needs to hurry up.
I like both, but cats have my heart. A kitty is curled up right by me at this very moment—and this cat, no joke, actually saved my life! (Not like in a mental health sense, but literally, *physically* saved my life: she always sleeps next to me, and when I stopped breathing one night, she became so frantic that she woke up my mother, who was alarmed & checked on me... wouldn't have been found until morning, otherwise. Working hypothesis is that I probably gasped and choked or something before the breathing failed entirely, and that's what disturbed her, but no idea really. Still... I owe 'er!)
I'm a dog person myself. I believe most dogs to be a higher form of life than most people... Cats are obviously, demonic in origin and here on a "Bussman's or working holiday" to find out what it is that we do up here, to wind-up in Hell for them and other demons to torture the lost and the damned for eternity, cat people be warned! 😜

It is telling that people describe the best cats as being almost like a dog.
Islam is anti-dog, thay could explain a bit from the last paragraphs.
