Muh peer review. I like a finalized journal version. It doesn't matter so much where as journal rankings don't relate to quality of the science. We can re-do this study with a more convincing design and sample and publish that elsewhere.
This actually puts me in mind of the experiments and research done in the 20th century in mind control and brainwashing, the reason being that broadly speaking their findings were that the more 'normal' a subject was in terms of behaviour and beliefs the easier they were to program. This apparently was due to the most 'normal' people being the most adaptable or mentally flexible and so follow whatever group consensus and behaviours are prevalent and are therefore easier to program.
This is in contrast to those investigated in this article which are apparently quite inflexible in beliefs and behaviours.
"Somewhat strangely, we find that heterosexual men are higher in mental illness in this sample, perhaps reflecting self-selection of men who resort to dating sites as opposed to finding dates in physical settings such as bars."
Alternatively, this could reflect the long term impact on male emotional health of spending large amounts of time on dating sites. OKCupid's own data showed that women rated 80% of men below average IIRC. Exposure to raw female hypergamy and getting ignored even by morbidly obese polyamorous neon-haired pronoun girls has to start stinging after a while.
Since gay men apparently don't show this problem, and anecdotally they find partners quite easily in this venues, that would tend to support the hypothesis that dating sites cause rather than attract mental illness amongst heterosexual men.
Dutton is a genius, check out his YouTube channel "The Jolly Heretic". I always knew that chicks with weird hair colors were crazy. This is scientific proof of what I naturally knew.
I feel like pre-2016 there was a strong correlation between unnatural hair colors for women and "Manic Pixie Dream Girl" type personalities and I'm not sure how much public perception on that has changed.
“(Yeah, I don't know where Dutton found this journal either. It doesn't even have a DOI, but whatever.)”
What’s the point of putting them in journals then? Just use preprints and Substack.

Are you going for a tenure track job?
lol

Science shows what everyone already knew: /pol/ is always right edition.
Fantastic work.
“Dyeing” in this sense is spelled thus. Nobody’s life is coming to an end.

I wonder when it started, I feel such bold color chemistries were only perfected in the last decade, just as with color tattoos.
