I resigned my commission a few months ago. Instead of a Thank You for almost 40 years in the reserves, I was told that I will be forced back if there is a conflict. Skin colour is a totally useless predictor of ability or intelligence - culture is what counts. I spent most of my time in the SOF and the military attache branch. Very few racial minorities there but those that wanted to be there were top notch. East Europeans being way above average in terms of abilities. But female reserve officers (mostly civil servants from some ministry) were created and given a rank that I worked for for years. They could lift a pencil like any man can but the rest of soldiering? Nada.

This is why I don't care about the controversy in women's sports, as a group inclusion over merit has always been their way.

"Its her turn" "draft our daughters" needs to be a thing.

The simps and tradcons will of course unfortunately stand in the way.

However diversity may make it more possible as distance makes it harder to care.

Somehow I'm not surprised to see Vietnam at the head of the pack. They're arguably the most successful warrior nation of the 20th century.

As to the collapse of the Western will to fight, before the war has even started, seems to me that's a logical correlate of gaslighting an ethnic group into oikophobia. It's the societal equivalent of depression, and while depressed people are easy to control since they won't defend themselves, they aren't much good in a fight for the same reason.

I would think countries get a boost for recent wars: winning = boost, losing = subtract. Vietnam fought impressive wars with USA and China, coming up ahead, especially impressive for its size and wealth. Compare with losers of WW2: Japan, Italy, Germany. Very low morale.

Agreed, but then there's Canada, which has been on the winning side of every war it's fought in its history as a country. Historically Canada had very high willingness to fight (eg a draft was simply unnecessary in WWII since so many volunteered). Yet Canada has very low willingness presently. I put that down to a decline in assabiyah, probably due to mass immigration, the racial ideology necessary to sustain it, and the resulting decay in social capital.

Yeah, a formal study would be nicer. Seems easy to compile this information for each country. Is that something you would like to do?

The loss by the Southern Confederacy was nearly 200 years ago, but a significant minority of Southern males descended from veterans of that attempt at independence might give it another go if pressed much harder. Maybe it is more accurate to say that the South truly lost independence starting about 60 years ago and occurring incrementally since. In any case, it seems an exception to the winning or losing of 20th century wars in relation to morale.
